Nicole Yalowitz is an Indianapolis based designer who uses many different mediums to express her creativity. She graduated from Herron School of Art and Design with a degree in fine arts majoring in painting. She also enjoys making jewelry, handbags, and found object sculpture. As a young home schooled child growing up in Indianapolis, sewing was a large part of the curriculum. Nicole has participated in wearable and wearable art fashion shows. She is currently working on wearable art pieces that will be shown on the runway at the Indianapolis Museum of Art in conjunction with the exhibit Breaking the Mode. Nicole will be debuting her fall/winter collection; Triple Sparkle by Coco Yalo for Midwest Fashion Week. Nicole describes her creative process and vision; “I enjoy letting my imagination run free while creating a garment. I want to produce something that is both functional and whimsical for the wearer. There is no reason why clothing can’t be both wearable and artistic.”
